I'm at work and I'm not going to be able to go dog through the bug reports on discord to find that right now, but I really hope they push an update soon to resolve some of these issues people are having because I've tried every other major launcher at this point and they all are terrible compared to Nova (In my humble opinion). I read some comments on the discord in response to a similar bug to mine, but slightly different, where the Nova tram member basically said it's due to Google making it harder for third party launcher devs to get their apps to work properly and there was basically nothing they could do about it. I've reported the bug but never got a reply. I've been running android 14 since beta 2 back in early summer and have been having issues with Nova the whole time. I removed Nov Launcher, but before I did that, I cleared the cache and storage and reinstalled it, and it is still happening. Once I do this, I can open the apps within the folders. The only way around it is to power off the screen and open it again. I recently upgraded my Pixel 6 and Pro to Android version 14, and for the last few days I have noticed that my folders with apps inside are not working. It may or may not work.Ģ) Simply wait 2 - 3 seconds in between clicking apps.ģ) Disable animations via Developer Options within Phone Settings. Please note, that would require you to join the Android 14 beta program, which is likely something you don't want to do.ġ) Use 3-button navigation instead of system gesture navigation. It's being reported by other users that it is already fixed in the current Android 14 QPR Beta version. The Your apps row on Google TV’s For You home screen also gets a reorder button that makes it easier than before to set up your home screen exactly how you want it to be. This issue happens in all 3rd party launchers, not just Nova and not the stock launcher. This is a well known bug in Android 14 that's been around for a couple of months. I recently upgraded to a Pixel Pro 8 and it is doing the same.
See the below information that I received from Nova tech support. I have been using this launcher for many years and with Android 14 something broke. Also like Nova, it’s worth the cost.Īndroid’s customizable launchers are easily one of the best things about the operating system in general-you spend so much of your time looking at (and for) things housed on the home screens and in the app drawer, so making the most of that experience is definitely something you should do. Like Nova, Action Launcher 3 is free to try, but you’ll have to shell out a five spot to get the most it has to offer. It’s loaded with other gesture-based features, customizable shortcuts and folders, and a lot more. Like Google Now Launcher's swipe-right-for-Now gesture, the same action on Action Launcher 3 will bring up an alphabetical list of everything installed on the handset, along with a quick way to sort through them by dragging across the letter bar on the right side.īut that’s not all Action Launcher 3has going for it. But once you actually start using it, it becomes pretty clear that this launcher has some features that you won’t find anywhere else, like a gesture to instantly launch a list of installed apps. At first blush, Action Launcher 3 doesn’t appear to be all that different from the other launchers on our list.
